As a young man, after High School but not yet out of college, I was asleep one evening in my parent's home, when a hand was laid upon my left shoulder and I was shaken until awake. As I looked up and to my left, there was a personage appearing to me whose white robes were exceedingly bright white, extending his hand and taking my left hand into his grasp. As he lifted me from the bed, calling me by name, I saw that my body continued to slumber in the double bed beside my sleeping brother. When I alighted, I also perceived that my feet did not touch the ground and also the feet of the Angel did not touch the ground.
I turned to the personage, who I now understand was an Angel of God appearing unto me, and he put his arm around my right shoulder. Immediately, I was no longer perplexed, as felt the calming warmth of the Angel's heart enfolding over me me like an enveloping wave bearing with it the peace of God. When our eyes met, for the first time I recognized my paternal Grandfather who was an RLDS Elder and had died when I was seven years of age. With the Angel's left arm around my shoulder, he raised his right hand with his palm toward the bedroom wall to the West and at this time, the two of us moved right through the solid wall, as I was being carried by an Angel flying in the midst of Heaven. We traveled through time and eternity until we came to a place where mist formed around our ankles, obscuring our feet. We were standing outside of a giant stone wall, with only one heavily-barred gate that was rounded at the top. The stone wall was fifty or sixty feet tall, and stretched in both directions as far as I could see, disappearing on both sides beyond the place where the ground meets the horizon.
Turning to me, with his left arm still around my right shoulder and with his left hand between my shoulder blades in the middle of my back, the Angel once more called me by name, stretching his right hand fully out and towards the barred gate, telling me that as an Elder of Jesus Christ, it was his duty to teach the souls in the prison house the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that one day, I would work with him, shoulder to shoulder in the Melchizedek High Priesthood, and teach the souls in the Prison House the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Angel then prophesied unto me saying that from time to time other Angels would administer unto me, and to be open to the whisperings of the Holy Spirit within the ear of my soul, and to be valiant in testimony when the Holy Spirit chooses the time for me to tell others of what the Angel has prophesied unto me.
