I noticed thath Community of Christ version of the Doctrine and Covenants is no longer available in pdf format. Does anyone know what happened? I ask because
I am wanting to put a copy on my new laptop but it's no longer available. And I know that every section of this paticular edition of the D&C is online
on official Community of Christ web site (Sections 161-163) and on the site centerplace.org (Sections 1-159) yet only Section 160 is not available online.
Also I ran across a website one time that had on it an alleged prophecy by a catholic priest(?) from I believe switzerland in circa 1735 AD and it was
apparently about the Utah based LDS Church. Does anyone else know of this alleged prophecy or know the website I am talking about or anything?

Joshua,
I'm sorry. I don't know anything about it. I don't know where you can find the Community of Christ version online.

thank you for your help. I have been born and raised in the Baptist christian faith, but the past couple years, and really within the past year I have become
more interested in this latter-day saint movement thanks in part to sites such as hopeofzion.com and youtube. I do believe Joseph Smith was a prophet of God.
And also I pray that God will continue to guide me to the truth.

I pray that you continue to grow in your relationship with God. If you have any questions you may e-mail me at gideonsfleece@lemrex.com or you can get in
touch with Doug Hatten, the one who runs this site. I'm glad you are here Joshua. May God bless you in your search for truth.

I haven't posted here for awhile, since 2007 when I had asked of the Book of Jeraneck. I am desiringto learn more of the Latter-Day movement as a
collective whole (LDS, Community of Christ, Temple Lot, Elijah Message, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-James Strang,The Latter-Day Church of Jesus
Christ, etc.). In some ways I am bit more borderline between this Latter-Day Saint movement and Orthodox Christianity (Coptic Orthodox Church to be exact). I
have only read through the first 7 chapters of 2 Nephi (LDS edition) in the BoM but I still believe it to be scripture. But whether it is the things you guys
posts here on these forums or the videos about Joseph Smith on youtube such as Joseph Smith Prophet of the Restoration, or the conversion stories on
Mormonconverts.com, I do hope and pray that as I said earlier God will continue to guide to truth.

I have to ammend one of my earlier statements. I had earlier I'm borderline between the Orthodox Christian church/faith and this Latter-Day Saint
movement. I must ammend that statement to say that I'm borderline in my beliefs between the Orthodox Church (Copyic Orthodoxy), Fundamentalist Baptist,
and the Latter-Day Saint movement. An issue I have with my fellow "traditional Christian" believers is their criticism of the BoM. The claims made
against this book of very similar to the claims atheists/non-believers make against the Holy Bible itself. When anti-mormons attack the Book of Mormon, those
who claim to be Christian somehow forget that non-believers attack in the same manner, the very Bible they hold dear. As John the Baptist might, "Ye
hyprocrites!" The scriptures say, and I'm using more KJV/Geneva Bible/Septuagint-LXX based quotes here, "Judge not lest ye be judged." We
must remember that our Lord said a house divided against itself cannot stand and that only a wicked, perverse generation demands a sign or in modern times
proof and evidence. I know God has put it in my heart and is still opening my eyes to the truth. I am still learning and growing in my knowledge of this
Restoartion as started by the prophet Joseph Smith, Jr.

An issue I have with my fellow "traditional Christian" believers is their criticism of the BoM. When anti-mormons attack the Book of Mormon, those who claim to be Christian somehow forget that non-believers attack in the same manner, the very Bible they hold dear.I have noticed this myself on a number of occasions. I don't spend much time worrying about it. The way I figure it, our lack of being the light we were called to be is at least one of the causes of their continued rejection of the Book of Mormon without even examining it. I also know that it is my calling to bring souls to Christ, not convert them to any church or book. As Rick Joyner said, we need to know the Lord of the book, even more than the book of the Lord. If we bring them to Christ, who is the living embodiment of the truth, in time the full truth of the matter of Joseph and the BOM will come forth and be known. Until that time, I rejoice that even though they reject the Book of Mormon in ignorance, many of them have and are beginning to accept many of the truths in that book (without knowing it) because of the work of the Holy Spirit among them. One truth...One God.

I mentioned earlier about a prophecy from the 1730's given by a catholic priest concerning the LDS church. I have finally found the link to the site where
I first came across this alleged prophecy. Here it is if anyone wants to check it out, and/or provide personal commentary:
http://web.archive.org/web/20041009213051/http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~dbowie/dispute/dispute.html I found the above link (under the heading of Disputed Mormon Texts) from the following site: http://www.zionsbest.com/best25websites.html |
