As I was saying about being a teacher, "it is what I am". Priesthood is not something like, the Lord hits you with wand and "bwang" you are changed.
Priesthood is what you are; what He has already created in you. A calling is the Lord holding a mirror up before you and saying, "This is what I call an elder".
Ordination is just a congregation agreeing with Him and saying, "We will accept elder ministry from this one".
This calling is without repentance. It can no more go away than you ceasing to exist. It is what you are.

So, for others, like Mrs. Obama, to see what you are called is discernment on their part. It is like Peter recognizing Jesus' messiahship. He saw what He is. Flesh and blood didn't reveal it. The Father revealed it.

When she recognized your calling, you were going through what Jesus went through. Experiencing one of the "works" He experienced.

Back to being a teacher.
Works:
Greek: ergon (This is where we get the word ergonomics)
Strong's 2041
1) business, employment, that which any one is occupied
a) that which one undertakes to do, enterprise, undertaking
2) any product whatever, any thing accomplished by hand, art, industry, or mind
3) an act, deed, thing done: the idea of working is emphasized in opposition to that which is less than work
