Thanks Hope!

I'm still chuckling about the ripped pants!  But I believe there is an important message in this.

I do not believe it was a pride issue.  I didn't care about wearing the old suit.  Yet it seemed more like a modesty issue which made me uncomfortable.  Yet your response caused me to think about this more.  Let me know what you think about this:

It seems that the aspect of being "laid bare" (ripped pants) represents more of an awareness that I must have nothing to hide from the Lord, everything is seen.  The suit coat covered my ripped pants and no one could see it as long as I kept my coat on.  If the coat was removed, then everyone would  be able to see me "where the sun don't shine" LOL

So I pondered different aspects of wearing a "mantle."  Meaning, that I must come fully clean and aware that I have nothing to hide from the Lord (or I can hide nothing from the Lord).  But in his mercy and grace, his mantle allows us a degree of dignity.  While we are fully transparent before him, he keeps us from being fully transparent before others as a form of personal dignity and modesty.

At first, I thought the greater message was the fulfillment of the verse I offered.  Now I wonder if the greater message is the ripped pants?
