In regards to regular dreams, it is true that probably 99% of them are just our subconscious mind working things out. Sometimes it is useful, sometimes not.
And definately, there are dreams that can be inspired by the Enemy of our soul, as well, even as Servant spoke about.
I have had to ask God to guard my dreams at times, and have had to do this for my wife twice in the past when she was being attacked in this manner. It is certainly an avenue through which Satan can bring an attack.
I have always been able to tell the difference between a spiritual dream and a regular dream. I wonder if it is that way with most people. Carrie, you mentioned a vivedness in some of your dreams.
Whenever I have had a spiritual dream, it is always extremely vivid, sharp, usually stands out from the pack of other dreams. And more importantly, both the subject matter, and something about the very nature of the dream seems to be highlighted in my soul in such a way that I immediately understand it to be a communication from God as soon as I wake up - or even during the dream. I wake up from them knowing it was a spiritual communication from the Lord.
Is it that way with everyone? I don't know.
Sometimes I will have a dream that seems like it could be significant, but it doesn't carry the same weight of impress upon me, as to the certaintly of its origins. In those cases, it is probably my own spirit trying to work things out, and solving issues while I sleep. This can be useful as well, but they aren't necessarily on the same level as a communication from God.
