Today I was reading an account highlighting mans progression toward eternal perfection. This path to perfection is spelled out as seven specific gifts of God to man, or the seven stages of life each must pass through in order to achieve godly perfection. Perfection is the glory of God and the nature of those who reside the closest to him.

I have some good questions for Steve, Doug, and others involved in trying to get persons baptized...

1) What materials or books do you use? Do you use church material, your own, or both?

2) How long do you take in preparation? How many hours or classes usually?

3) What would you recommend with a population that struggles with literacy like the homeless and street people that we minister to down at HART ministries?

4) Any other advice regarding preparation...

Here is something that I have been pondering for the last few days, and I would like to see what others think.

I was reading in Daniel, and he was repenting for his own sins, and the sins of the nation. In the D&C (I'm sorry, I don't remember the section, and can't seem to find it) I have read that we are to bear the sins of others until they can bear them themselves. Isaiah and other prophets repented on behalf of their people.

We have a bunch of tracts that hang on a wall, each one is neatly folded in its hole. This morning as I was waiting for the prayer service to finish, I picked one up to leaf through it.

The tract was what "Church is or isn't."

I thought it raised a great question.

During our elders conference there was an issue where there was a technical debate on whether we could even hear and vote on some priesthood calls, because it was believed by some that they were not processed correctly.

In one instance, because it was a call to elder, and did not come through the pastor, but from one of the apostles.

I would like to ask a question about the ministry of angels... more specifically, about the Aaronic priesthood.

I was just reading in the BoM, in III Nephi, about how Nephi was ministered to daily by angels, because of his great faith. The D&C tells us that the Aaronic priesthood have been given the keys to the ministry of angels. What does this mean? What are the keys? I am looking for greater understanding. Thanks...

priesthood

I know not everyone agrees on who should hold the priesthood, but I have just come across a group that believe that the priesthood was taken from the earth when Joseph Smith was killed. Well ,with the exception of the 3 Nephites and John the Baptist. Didn't Oliver Cowdery recieve the priesthood with Joseph Smith? Was it ever taken from him? And what about the other's whom Joseph conferred(?) the priesthood on(to?)
